There are classes of information which is not welcomed in OSM and should be kept outside.
We do not map pathways on private territories, personal flats, military objects beyond defined limit (public information), temporary and historical objects, we do not import elevation measures and so on.

My conclusion: I do not see good reasons to have in OSM any of discussed lines: equator, polar circles, tropics and any other meridians or circles of latitude.
Poles and other points could be considered to be mapped if there are physical objects (landmark/buoy) or it is a tourist attraction site.

d1g and sympathizers could start voting here or write an proposal in wiki. But I estimate their chances as slim.

The only thing that stop us mapping Air traffic corridors is that we don’t have real ele=*. It is stupid technical limitation, not a real argument not to enter this perfectly usable data.

Вменяемого критерия различения, что надо рисовать, а что не надо (т.е. почему мы должны нарисовать Антимеридиан, но не нарисовать все целые параллели) - так и не привели
Дальнейшую дискуссию с вами на эту тему я считаю бесполезной.

Если хотите получить возможность нарисовать сабж в базе и не схлопотать бан - выставляйте ваше предложение на голосование, здесь или в вики.

Мой голос (если новых аргументов не появится) - против.
Если детаельно - воздерживаюсь по полюсам (и точке 0,0), против отрисовки экватора и меридианов (и всех остальных аналогичных линий и точек).

BushmanK правильную картинку привёл - рисование адекватных меридианов/параллелей текущими средствами OSM невозможно, просто в силу использования простых геометрических абстракций, которые не работают на больших дистанциях, где уже необходимо использовать другую геометрию (например сферическую).
Если для обычных объектов это не существенно (погрешность слишком мала), то для протяжённых уже существенно. Тут или вводить новые геометрические абстракции (которые всё равно никто не будет поддерживать, т.к. слишком сложно) или рисовать тысячи точек.
И весь этот геморрой только заради того чтобы иметь возможность поставить ссылку на вики? IMHO - обойдутся.

Я не случайно спросил, как предполагается снабдить координатами Северный полюс. Это точка, имеющая широту 90° и НЕ ИМЕЮЩАЯ долготы. Например тот навигатор, который у меня сейчас, такие координаты ввести не позволяет. А предыдущий - позволял, и после этого у него происходил заворот мозгов. Я полагаю, что далеко не каждое ПО сможет переварить СП.

Дело даже не в том, что не каждое ПО сможет его переварить (вспомним еще о том, что те средства, которые работают только в проекции Меркатора вообще выше/ниже 85N/85S показывать ничего не умеют), а в том, что у этого самого ПО на этот случай свои варианты встроенного в него инструментария, а потому никакая сторонняя геометрия этому ПО не нужна. Для измерения/подсчета чего-либо она тоже не нужна - это иначе делается. Нужна она только “чтоб было” и чтобы дать ссылку из Википедии (что не странно - г-н Павел Гетманцев, большой любитель нести в OSM всевозможный исторический и виртуальный мусор из Википедии, отметился в истории всех этих объектов).

Попробовал в действии ссылки от Википедии на Северный полюс - “Это место на карте Google” и “Это место на карте OSM”.
Google тупо сдох и страница повисла.
OSM же поставил маркер в точку lat=85.0511 & lon=0.0001 (видимо сработало fool proof)

В запросе же от Википедии в обоих случаях фигурировали координаты lat=90.0 & lon=0.0, что для Северного полюса неверно в принципе.

Ни один онлайн-сервис, который работает в проекции Меркатора, показать полюс, как точку, не может принципиально, потому что проекция не определена за пределами 85й параллели.
Нужен специальный сервис, который бы использовал полярную стереографическую или иную подобную проекцию http://polar.openstreetmap.de например.

Говорить о координатах точки Северного полюса в Географической проекции (которая plate carrée) неверно, потому что в этой проекции, благодаря ее геометрическим свойствам, эта точка на поверхности Земли обращается в линию на карте длиной с экватор, то есть в бесконечное множество точек с координатами lat=90, lon=[-180;180].
А единственная точка - не более чем условный костыль.

Проекций, которые для этого подходят - множество: семейство конических, ортографическая, вертикальной ближней перспективы и т.п. Определенно, это не случай ссылок из Википедии на osm.org

То, что нет высот, не мешает там эти высоты вводить. ele=* вполне себе существует и его можно использовать в навигации (OSMAnd или ещё чём), а не только в GIS программах. Не нравится вам как это реализовано - переделывайте софт. Только как софт переделаете - перенесёте инфу с тегов ele=*

Сферические геометрии? Будет отдельный объект в модели данных только чтобы маньяки-геодезисты успокоились и дали нам name=* и wikidata=* поставить?

Ни у кого нет аргументов кроме повторения про “2002 координатные сетки” из Геодезии?

Вот это Вы правильно сказали, “координата”.
В многолюбимой Вами Википедии дословно сказано так:

Географические координаты Северного полюса 90°00′00″ северной широты. Долготы полюс не имеет

Вы почему-то путаете “ele” с “longitude”.

И Вы почему-то упорно не желаете понять, что Северный и Южный полюса - это 2 (всего 2, на всей Земле!) точки, которые невозможно в принципе ввести в базу данных (ОСМ)! При всем желании невозможно! У точки обязаны быть заполнены оба поля координат - широта и долгота (про высоту “ele” вопрос пока не обсуждается). А у полюсов только одна координата! И место в базе под вторую и пустым остаться не может, и никакое значение туда записать нельзя. Ни “0”, ни “180”, ни “0.000000000000000001”, ни что другое! Нет второй координаты по определению полюса. И что делать?
