We?!! I’m not one of them and thus, the only argument you use to “support” removal is complete nonse.

I will repeat myself, but they can be used:

  1. geocoding (why on earth would you remove place=locality objects)
  2. more intuitive and flexible spatial querying based on objects and not hard-coded cords in the software
  3. if these objects exist, they belong to OSM

And nobody denied one of them after 72 messages (including changeset discussion at osm.org)
