This month TomTom has three small MapRoulette challenges to share in Canada. The challenges target potential issues around junctions to improve routing guidance.
Canada - Fix Inconsistent Highway Intersections
In this challenge, a variety of issues may be present. It can include highways that pass over or under each but have layer tag errors. Highways may be duplicated or highways intersect but are not connected. There are 131 tasks available in this challenge.
Canada - Improper Highway Junctions
In this challenge, there may be almost junctions that need to be connected, duplicated highways, or situations where the noexit=yes tag are missing but need to be added. There are 241 tasks on this challenge.
Finally, in the Canada - Very Close Junctions challenge there are 138 tasks where junctions are very close together but not connected. The goal is to evaluate if these should be connected at the same node.
You may need zoom in quite a bit to view these.
False positives are possible on any challenge. If you run across any of these, flag them as Can’t Complete.
As always reach out with any questions or concerns. And safe travels on your mapping journeys as summer approaches.
