TomTom - MapRoulette Challenges - June 2025

Hi All,

In June 2025, TomTom has two new MapRoulette challenges to share.

Up first is United States - Sharp Angles on Highways. In this challenge highways with angles of less than 45 degrees were identified. In most cases the alignment of the highway needs some improvement. There are 1,690 tasks across the United States.

For advanced mappers the second challenge United States - Advanced Map Editing: Improper Landuse Objects targets mutlipolygons with inconsistent parts or members. It may contain only outer or inner parts or relations may be broken due to incomplete or unconnected geometry. There are 265 tasks for this challenge.

False positives are possible on either challenge. If you run across any of these, flag them as Can’t Complete.

Thanks for reading and safe travels to all traveling to SOTM US next week!

Thanks,
David

for the sharp angles challenge, I noticed many of the tasks are already completed in California by TomTom employees. Do you think it’s possible to rerun the detection to remove these tasks which were already completed?

@citrula let me look into removing those tasks. I’ll circle back when they’re done.

@citrula Those tasks have been removed from the challenge. It was limited to the Los Angeles metro area. You should not encounter additional Already Fixed tasks on challenge (resulting from other TomTom edits) but if you do let me know.

Thanks for your mapping contributions and improving the challenge!
