In February 2026, TomTom has two MapRoulette challenges to share. Up first is the the United States - Improper Highway Junctions challenge with 161 tasks. In this challenge highways may be located close to each other but not connected. The conditions checked for include:

end node of highway running within 2 meters of another highway without a connection

highway is shorter than 0.5 meters from a junction.
Most situations can be resolved by connecting the highways.
Up next is the United States - Spiky Land Use challenge with 2,330 tasks. This challenge targets conditions where area features have unusually sharp angles → narrower than 20 degrees. This challenge includes the following types of land use: landuse=recreation_ground, landuse=commercial, tourism=theme_park, amenity=hospital.
In most cases these can fixed by reshaping the area but for some tasks it might require more extensive edits like multi-polygon changes or disconnecting areas from highways.
On both challenges you may encounter false positives or cases where another mapper resolved the issue, if that happens just mark the tasks as Already Fixed or Not an Issue. As always, just reach out with questions.
