I’m happy to share two editing challenges this month.
Up first is Fix Duplicated Highways with 1,180 tasks. These are locations where segments of highways have overlapping geometry within a buffer zone of 0.5 meters. The full scope for the USA is available.
And next Fix Too Close Junctions with 601 tasks. These tasks were created by filtering for situations where the distance between junctions is less than 50 centimeters. Tasks for the East Coast are loaded and the remainder of the country will be loaded in the coming weeks.
Most cases can be solved by realigning nodes or portions of highways. In some situations you may need to zoom in closely to see the issue as shown in this example:
If you’re unsure about a complex situation or if there’s outdated aerial imagery or street level sources, flag the task as Can’t Complete. False positives are possible and can be flagged as Not an Issue.
