TO DO's for OSMF

Dear all,
I’m already some years member in OSM, also in OSMF.
I watch project OSM from the beginning.

Today I read one interesting discussion in german forum.

That´s true, we have still a lot of open topics and I believe, only OSMF can act.
Especially mapping standards and guidelines and wiki are often not clear.

Therefore we have edit wars and some mapper they quit their work in OSM.

I was pretty shocked to see user who deleted 41135 861 points in the map.
This is wasted time and can happens only, when more exactly standards doesn´t exist…

To be more exactly:
We need guidelines for mapping of areas, we should finally change old artefacts like e.g. landuse=grass.

The OSMF or more exactly DWG can say: It´s not our job.
But who can do it when they don´t do?

We need probably an new working group for realize it, I would say:

Standard Working Group

yep, i also deleted a whole day’s work on area’s → https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=59171
Is indeed a waste, and my ‘appetite’ for mapping has also shrunk . :frowning:

Also ; opening hours … instead of a simple/good visible and ‘easy-for-updating-by-shop-owners-themself’ , it is as of one has to be almost a ‘software-engineer’ to make those opening-hours validated → http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:opening_hours

Hello!
I am pretty new to OSM but as a developer I see many problems, data inconsistency and lack of validation, that’s why I strictly agree, that generally accepted standard for mapping and contribution should be worked out.

Hey Marek!
Any updates here? Maybe some real work was started?
