Some organizations in my area are putting in these little bracket things for crowdsourced timelapse photos. They’re called “photo stations”.
Some are on their own posts, others are mounted to railings, etc. They have a dedicated ID on an accompanying sign, so a ref tag and operator seem obvious.
I’m wondering: how do I tag what this thing is? Do I call it tourism=viewpoint? That doesn’t quite capture the “photo station” aspect, but maybe that’s okay.
man_made=surveillance is defined for equipment. This has no equipment, nor =guard stationed.
Would consider tourism=photo* + photo**=surveillance + surveillance:*=* + photo*:prop=no + photo*:camera_mount=yes (personally don’t like photopoint , too easily abused as =viewpoint have been). You are probably welcomed to take photos for yourself there alongside. Proposal:Photopoint - OpenStreetMap Wiki
There can be public camera mounts for personal use. Both are the same physically, only differing by purpose.
photopoint= for =photo_stand-in etc was recently removed. It could be resurrected for =surveillance , and eg =scenery for above. Proposal:Photopoint - OpenStreetMap Wiki
