Telling map that making a turn is possible

I was using OSM on my GPS yesterday, and the routing tried to bring me miles out of the way, seemingly because it did not know that a turn from one road (a main road, which appears in yellow), to another road (a smaller access road-but fully paved, real road - into a movie theater, listed in white) was possible.

There is a “dot”/“point” that connects the two roads in OSM.

What should the delineation be to tell OSM that turning on this road is possible, so I can fix the problem?

Thanks.

Usually it should never be necessary to allow a turn. That’s the normal case unless anything is explicitly forbidding the turn.

So probably there’s something wrong, either with the map data or the routing software. Can you post a permalink to the problematic junction so we can have a look?
