Hello Bulgarian OSM mappers!
With the Giro d’Italia starting and passing through Bulgaria this year, we saw a great opportunity to come together as a community and strengthen OpenStreetMap data along the route.
High‑quality OSM map is essential for sporting events: it helps locals and visitors navigate more easily, it also supports event organization, and is critical for safety and emergency services.
Following the approach, we initiated few years back, we reviewed areas around the Giro route and nearby towns and noticed missing buildings in OSM in Sofia. To address this, we created a Tasking Manager project that anyone can join:
