I would like to introduce OSM among local college students. Can I expect active support from the community ?
What sort of support are you looking for?
I’m pretty new to the concept of OSM, not even a couple of months old. I find this concept very useful as it hands me the necessary tools to create my own map. Currently l’m using organic maps, after replacing comaps, and l’m finding it better for my experience. I need to explore this particular app more and more and learn to upload my data into the local map. I need to learn a lot of things myself.
Maybe when l come across questions from the local students, l ask it over here ? Better still, if the community had an easy access on popular social media where youngsters could easily reach out to the experienced mappers.
That would be OpenStreetMap World & get them to post in the Mapping Help thread
Thanks for the link. But in my country, the more popular forms of social media are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram.
Is there anything useful in the Community index? E.g. for India I see Telegram near the top of the list.
Thanks very much for this link. Absolutely what l needed ![]()
