I am trying to figure out how to draw the bounding box, and also how to tag the garage. The houses are detached however garage is a single structure, divided into two… The house numbers in the image are not accurate.
Should it be a single footprint, or two adjoining rectangles to define a garage.
building: garage, resedential: duplex or something simlar.

Far as I know we map the outline of the building at ground level?
Thus not ownership.
Would therefore map one building, if there are two 'house’numbers insert two address nodes - one per part of the building - same way that one can draw one outline for semi-detached houses, then add address nodes.
Looking forward to different solutions.
I tag these sorts of shared garages with building=garages; emphasis on the plural. See Tag:building=garages - OpenStreetMap Wiki
I’m sure I have also added distinct, interconnected building=garage (singular) ways, but only if I’m fairly confident from outward context clues where the demising wall(s) between them is(/are).
