Okey, a little summary:
Meaning that in a traditional pool voting, it likely wouln’t be much different.
And yeah, valid points
cemetery=grave
is commonly used, so tough to make to obsolete- semantics are a problem there, but we have got many of these, so maybe we are okey there
- lack of actual
landuse=cemetery
oramenity=graveyard
shouldn’t be an issue
Some other ideas:
landuse=cemetery
should be depreciated in favor oramenity=cemetery
- not many people realise, but a graveyard has to be next to a church or a chapel. In that sense its a type of cemetery, so we better have
cemetery=graveyard
. There are other types of cemeteries so this would be a good grouping
All this should rather be solved sooner than later, because the use of man_made=grave
increases and soon we gonna have same issue as we got with amenity|landuse=graveyard|cemetery
or natural=wood|landuse=forest.
Use of man_made=tomb
is increasing as well, because some people refuse to us apprroved tomb=columbarium
along with historic=tomb
coz they don’t think that it’s historic enough. Actually, very recently wiki page was edited with this idea with no actual discussion, but i’m not opposing, just pointing out that so many people do things solely on their own
And there is this amenity=crypt
which gladly is only proposed and should be made obsolete, because we have got tomb=crypt
already and it’s actually approved
