I would like to watch changes in my neighborhood (for example).
I noticed that if I go to http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changesets I can subscribe to an RSS of the current location I am seeing.
Is that the recommended way to “Watch Changes” in an area?

OWL (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OWL_(OpenStreetMap_Watch_List)) is supposed to be better than changeset RSS, since it filters out irrelevant, large changesets. However, it’s not stable, doesn’t consistently deliver.
So for now, I recommend the changeset rss feed … and ignore the big edits.
