StreetComplete - Bildreduzierung vermeiden

Ich habe mit StreetComplete einen Hinweis für eine Ladesäule erstellt. Damit es der Bearbeiter bequem hat, habe ich die Säule so aufgenommen, sodass der QR-Code gut erkennbar ist. Leider hat StreetComplete das Bild so eingedampft, sodass der QR-Code nicht ausgewertet werden kann.

Jetzt ist mir beim Bearbeiten einer Note aufgefallen, StreetComplete scheint nicht grundsätzlich die Bilder herunterzuskalieren. Ich habe dazu aber keine Einstellmöglichkeit in StreetComplete gefunden . Habe ich etwas übersehen?

Nichts gefunden im meinem Englische SC Einstellungen, inkl, quests und nichts im SC wiki. Fand aber dazu GPS daten nicht erfasst werden mit Bild, nur richtung wenn zu verfuegung. Auch kann man notiz quests nicht ausschalten im meinen SC.57.2. Meine interresse weil recherchieren war bilder ausm gallery zum Notiz addieren. Auch niet.

Das Problem was ich mit dem StreetComplete hosting der Bilder habe ist, das die wieder verschwinden. Übermorgen möchte ich das nochmal verifizieren was da war und nochmal gucken und die Bilder sind schon wieder weg.

Deshalb lade ich die lieber bei Mapillary (You may also use Kartaview, Panoramax - you name it) hoch damit die auch in 5 Jahren noch da sind und man nochmal drauf referenzieren kann.

Ich bin dazu übergegangen ALLES zu Fotografieren und bei Karta und Mapillary hochzuladen. Ich bewahre das zusätzlich auch auf.

Aber morgen fällt man beim Mappen in das nächste Rabbithole (Ich im moment mit pipelines) und ich kann bequem nochmal 3000km Straßennetz nach Pipeline markern absuchen. Ich will ja nicht jeden Quadratmeter 10 mal besuchen um beim nächsten mal Hydranten, Spiegel, Manholes oder Street Cabinets zu machen.

Ground truth ist mein “persöhnlicher Workflow” - Steile These.

Und es hat in sofern etwas damit zu tun als z.b. Mapillary dieses nicht macht, UND den Vorteil hat die Bilder nicht wegzuwerfen.

Also in sofern hat das sehr viel mit dem Ursprung zu tun, insofern das die empfehlung ist vielleicht einfach einen anderen Dienst nehmen der das nicht macht.

Gut - Muss ich das nächste mal viel expliziter dabeischreiben weil das ansonsten nicht verstanden wird.

No, there is no setting for that - StreetComplete always reduces the size/quality of the image on upload, according to this parameters:

If that is big problem for you, one possible alternative to explore is to try out SCEE (“StreetComplete Expert Edition”) fork.

It has option do locally save full-quality pictures that you attached to notes (images uploaded publicly will still be of reduced quality; but you can get full-quality pictures from your phone via Setting / Notes / Get full size photos).

(By default SCEE looks pretty much StreetComplete, and can coexist with it on some device so it is easy to try out - it is mostly when you start enabling advanced functionality in settings that you’ll notice most of the changes it provides. Of course, it should go without saying that the more functionality you enable, the more complex it becomes).

Note however that even with full quality picture, while your chances are much better, there is no guarantee you’ll be able to scan QR code from it later - light reflections, picture taken at angles, focus/depth of field etc. could make the QR code unreadable from that picture.

That issue is not specific to StreetComplete, but is due to the fundamental difference between taking a single picture and using QR scanning app (the latter tries to recognize dozens to hundreds of pictures, and likely fails on many of them until specific phone zoom/focus/lightning happens to work. Even if it takes just 1 second to recognize QR code, it likely means there were likely dozens of failed attempts before it happened to work!)

So, if you care specifically about QR codes, you can scan QR code locally on your mobile phone app, and then copy/paste decoded URL to the note instead. Only that is guaranteed that it would always work.

Correct. See SC FAQ: “It would be useful if photos from Notes had GPS + viewing direction embedded in them” about reasoning for that (and link to a workaround if you’d like .jpg files to have GPS coordinates in its EXIF headers).

Images should not be deleted as long as the OSM Note remains open, but only a few days after it becomes closed. But no, they are intentionally not permanent, see SC FAQ: “Are the pictures taken with StreetComplete permanent?” (explanation also includes workarounds).

Ergebnis für mich, ich verwende eine andere Strategie. Wie muss ich noch genauer überlegen.
