Strange edit in Galápagos with a lot of garbage

I see strange changeset Changeset: 179368558 | OpenStreetMap made by user Carlos Tenesaca Pacheco.
This changeset adds 10`000 new objects. Which is strange. But even more worrying is that most of those objects are lines and point with no tags. Map data looks terrible.

A lot of poligons with no tags and polygons duplicating existing ones but shifted:

Should I revert this changeset? What do you usually do with such huge edits?

This edit looks like part of a larger edit, split up into multiple changesets. My biggest concern is there isn’t any source mentioned. I’d ask the editor for details on the source and what the mapping actually is.

Tags should be present even if it’s only a partial upload. Those are uploaded at the same time as the geometry and there’s no way they can be accidentally separated into different uploads.

If you’re talking about tags on nodes/ways etc, if you’re doing a massive upload that’s split across multiple changesets, JOSM will do all the nodes first, which if they’re just the nodes used to create ways, they’ll be untagged naturally. That’s what’s happened here from a quick check.

I mean the untagged (building) ways that are mentioned in the post and that are visible in the screenshot.

I probably didn’t get to that changeset when reviewing, the ones I saw had tagged ways. I suspect it’s a poor import.

Regardless of that, it’s best to ask the mapper first and see if we do get a response, but I suspect reverts are needed.
