Paris, the New Capital of OpenStreetMap

Having hosted the Olympic Games, Paris is preparing to welcome another international event where community, openness, and diversity will be central to the event. Like the sporting disciplines themselves, OpenStreetMap’s mapping covers a multitude of themes and territories.
Nature and hiking enthusiasts will find a space for expression there, as well as professionals in the field of geographic data.

I have just removed them. Users with write access to the OSM blog can remove them, so probably contacting the post author is the way to go. Thanks for the heads up.

Book your spot for the annual gathering of the OpenStreetMap community!

As every year, the first tickets (Early Bird) are available at a reduced rate for a limited time. Don’t wait too long if you want to benefit from it.

On our side, we’re working on an international event worth the trip: 3 days of talks and workshops, a gala evening, and a few surprises along the way

Whether you’ve been part of the community for years, use OSM data in your work, or are simply curious to better understand the ecosystem, you are welcome at State of the Map 2026.

And that’s a wrap on State of the Map 2026 Paris!!!

A massive THANK YOU to all our amazing participants - both in-person and online! Your energy was incredible.

Thank you to our speakers, volunteers, sponsors, hosts, and everyone who made this possible.

There were three important announcements during the closing session for those of you who couldn’t make it :

(1) After more than ten years of involvement in organising State of the Map, Christine Karch is stepping down. We want to address a very warm thank you to @Christine_Karch for her invaluable contribution of this year’s SOTM and we wish her all the very best for the future !

(2) The association of the Catalan community of OSM is now officially a local chapter.
