I would like to know why parts of the standard street map of Venice that I’m currently viewing are ‘greyed out’? Some streets allow a ‘clear view’, whist others are totally grey out and unable to view. Thank you

We have no idea from which site you are viewing the map and using what software.
The standard Mapnik rendering looks OK: https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=venice#map=17/45.43685/12.32419
So do the cycling, transport and Humanitarian renderings.
Hi hadw
Thanks for your suggestion about using the alternate layering (cycling, transport and humanitarian). These all work fine but I prefer, at this stage, to work with the standard rendering / layer which for some unknown reason isn’t opening properly. I’m always left with two or three ‘greyed in’ squares covering the part or street of Venice I wish to look at more closely.
I am using Windows 7, 64 bit and are viewing the map of Venice directly from https://www.openstreetmap.org/. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I imagine it is the same problem as the Australia thread. The tile servers are, presumably, being overloaded.
