Selection
Summary
The submitted artworks will be reviewed by the SotM working group, and the selected logo will be decided via vote.
The official logo and recognition of the logo creator will then be announced in SotM and OSM official channels.
The logo creator will receive an access ticket to the SotM 2026.
The logo should represent the local community of SotM. So the SotM orga team will ask the local team as representative of the local community which one their favorite is.
The early bird price for community tickets will cover costs for food/catering etc.
Sure. It also costs money to serve osm tiles. The fundation offers it for free.
I doesn’t shock me that entreprises and officials have to pay, to look for sponsors, but it seems awkward that unpaid volunteers, who make OSM what it is, have to pay too.
Going to Paris and find a place to stay at this time of year is already expensive, it’s something to take into account, imho.
Do we already know how much it will cost ?
The transport was already too expensive and time-consuming from where I live.
It’s not just a venue which you get for the payment, there is also very good complementary food at the breaks and lunchtime available not to mention food and drinks at the Saturday night social.
I have never paid more than a community earlybird ticket but when I take into account what I would pay for lunch and one evening meal for a 3 day conference the price isn’t bad.
we could discuss tickets prices and grant programs in an other topic, i chatted with wikipedia people and they told me that they make grants for many people who come to their annual event, we can also do this.
