Small scale disaster mapping

I live in an area with lots of paths for outdoor enthusiasts. Sometimes these paths become damaged. During my mapping years I have chosen distinct strategies to promulgate such occurrences to data, when I was certain, that the damage would not be healed for months:

  • highway=construction; construction=path
  • destroyed|abandoned|disused:highway=path
  • sac_scale=what_was_there_plus_1
  • access=no

Below picture of the effect of access=no mapped half a year ago on Strava:

Note: There the maintainer of the path put up “Closed” signs, but they are in no way legally binding to the people walking there. I could have just as well upped sac_scale there, but I chose to go the access way.

So far, no complaints. But still curious, is there an OSM certified way of dealing with such things?
