Slightly offset aerial images

Hi all

I’ve noticed that it seems there can be a few metres difference between one aerial imagery set and another.

Eg,

Even allowing for the angle view on the second image, it looks as though the bases of the buildings are just slightly different.

Am I right? Does it matter? Is there a workaround? Or perhaps one set of imagery is considered definitive?

Thank you,

EB

Most editors allow you to offset the imagery. You should normally try to offset the imagery to match the existing offsets in the map, unless things are so wrong that you need to re-align the whole area. The gold standard is GPS coordinates, but these also have a few metres of uncertainty.

Super, thank you.
