Should I add (agricultural) field names?

Around here (UK), many of the local fields, pastures, etc. have individual names. Whilst some are generic (e.g. four-acre plot), some are distinct (Barrow Hill, The Rookery, etc.) and are sometimes referenced in walking guides or local culture.
Should I add the latter names in? I don’t want to crowd the map.

Yes, if a field have a name, add it.

Thank you!

I am by no means an authority on this subject but I’ve seen other recent threads that would suggest names can sometimes be a contentious issue, particularly when there are no signs “on the ground”.

The wiki page is fairly extensive:

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Names

In Germany there’s something similar and we mostly set a node at the center and add place=locality + name=The Name

I prefer the node because the landuse can vary a lot over here. But I believe there are many rather unchanging hedges and stone walls marking the fields in GB so it might be pretty ok to add the name to the relevant landuse
