I’m tagging a road and I’m doing turn lanes and I was wondering if I have turn:lanes:backward=left|none|right, should I also tag destination:lanes:backward=Example Avenue||Example Boulevard or should destinatiion:lanes only be used on interstate highways and similar roads that have the signs that say something like “left lane to East Ponce de Leon, Atlanta”?
From Key:destination I gather that destination “describes the content of signposts or ground writing indicating the names of the locations that the tagged way is heading to”.
Subject to local customs, if there’s a destination sign, you can tag it.

Some US towns place destination signs along major residential streets; use the town’s judgement for whether a destination sign should be present.
