Should amenity be tagged on a building way?

See one of my previous comments about this. There’s just too many downsides to tagging both amenity and building on a building way.

Which tagging schemes did you change your mind about?

I used to add business tags to buildings, but now I add a separate node for the business. For example, a restaurant that’s in a detached house. I used to tag it like this: [Capture d’écran 2025-08-15 à 01.26.14] Whereas now I tag it like this: [Capture d’écran 2025-08-15 à 01.26.45] My reasoning behind this is that it makes it easier to differentiate the building and the business tags, which is super helpful when the restaurant closes and another one opens and now I have to know which …
