Just read the XML data in your SW and “push” every new <nd ref="..."> to the array of nodes of the way.
Neg. number. You need to provide placeholder ids for all new objects. Don’t forget that the entry in the way node list corresponds to a separate, pre-created, node object (which must have the same placeholder id).
