@Milhouse would you be willing to go through the work to re-integrate the pavements in that area (since it’s your “patch”, so to speak) with a thought towards the guidance document, which I just updated again, and I would appreciate your input on (as well as others).
Hopefully we’re getting to a point where that document is representing, if not a complete consensus, at least the views of the majority. I think the only contentious thing in there now is the naming of pavements, which I will remove unless there is a significant will to keep it (possibly to be replaced with the street:name=* tag, although honestly I am personally of the view that it’s a bit of a pointless tag since it’s not really used for anything).
If that holds I’ll add it to the wiki in the next week or so and we can recommend it for tasking teams when mapping pavements in the UK without winding up the locals
