Roof mapping

How do you map a roof like this one

The house is placed next to another house that is larger and therefore has no need to have a second/fourth angled roof side.

Mapping this would be fairly easy if the ridge of the roof is centered and if one end is gabled and the other is hipped? Is that what it is? It’s a little difficult to tell. Do you have photos you can post here or a location of the building so it can be viewed?

ridge is centered
one end is gabled
other end is hipped

I have no images and the roof is in an area with private access only that is surrounded by a large hedge. But I see if I can find a different building the same type of roof.

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner, it’s been a busy week. First, the roof of this building extends horizontally beyond the main body of the building creating an overhang. You can see an example of how this is created in 3D here, with Sutton Hall in Texas. This is a building I used to teach a new mapper the basics of 3D. https://demo.f4map.com/#lat=30.2848542&lon=-97.7408352&zoom=21&camera.theta=68.262&camera.phi=116.712

In order to create the effect of one end of a roof being gabled and the other end being hipped, you need to create two roof sections. Instead of creating a single hipped roof or a single gabled roof, create two roof sections with the differing roof-type elements.

These two roof areas will overlap as in the example below. This is a church where one end of the roof has a gabled ending and the other end of the roof has a rounded gable. It’s not a perfect example for what you are doing, but I think you get the idea.

For another example of multiple roof sections overlapping to created complicated 3D results, see here: https://demo.f4map.com/#lat=39.7530099&lon=-105.0008037&zoom=21&camera.theta=56.803&camera.phi=17.074
