Report vandalism or concerns about edits here

You did well to revert the closure of the road near Epidavros, because it’s indeed open a few months now (I opened the closed section again because I know from someone who drives regularly through there that it’s open).

That account in general does mostly imaginary/non-existent-in-the-present-day edits and they don’t seem to care about getting in touch with the rest of the Greek community.

I am concerned that TVGRECCE may be the same user as Delta Evas ALL and others: the so-called slip-road at Way: 1285189495 | OpenStreetMap is not open and is in fact fenced off. I’m not able to revert because my JOSM is connected to OpenGeoFiction right now. There is also a spammy changeset comment by the same user at Changeset: 151631798 | OpenStreetMap.

In addition, I believe that TVGRECCE is messing around with the classification without consulting the community. For exampe, Way History: ‪Κορωπί - Αεροδρόμιο‬ (‪80503156‬) | OpenStreetMap. Why are our concerns about the user are not being taken seriously? The user’s changeset comments are so similar to Delta Evas ALL.

Have you reported the user to DWG?
Just writing the complaints here won’t help much for someone who isn’t following the issues in Greece as map, as the Greek community does, especially when DWG is trying to control stuff and revert vandalisms all over the world. Plus, a report helps them having those issues documented for future reference.

Yep, the proper way is reporting.

The report was in the draft folder. I sent it now. Ticket #2024040910000271 is updated.

FYI:

I apologise for any prior frustration.

Changesets by Delta Evas ALL have recently been reverted.

This means some ways may be missing or duplicated.

Mappers are invited to help me repair the damage by merging ways and adding missing ways, by using the latest Esri World Imagery.

Note that here, the bridges are being rebuilt.

EXTRA: due to the ongoing “lines with abusive language” vandalism, the standard tile layer is taking a little longer than usual to update, so it may take some time for our repairs to reflect on the standard tile layer.

Unfortunately, Delta Evas ALL may have created another sockpuppet, judging by a wave of edits that do not reflect reality: OSMCha

The same user has been reverting the long-term closures on the A5 and added broken road layouts: https://osmcha.org/changesets/154176799 and https://osmcha.org/changesets/154151143. I am asking the DWG to intervene because if I do it myself, there may be an edit war.

Can someone please review which changesets of filmsgr are suspicious for me? I notice the user has been reclassifying roads that do not reflect reality like here, and also has been mass-deleting old ways and replace them with those of inconsistent quality like here. Glassman has warned the user but I am concerned that the user maybe a sockpuppet of Delta Evas ALL due to their editing patterns.

The changesets definitely seem suspicious, and the content of them and the changeset comments seem consistent with Delta Evas ALL.

For the record, I have spotted another fake changeset by Delta Evas ALL at OSMCha, where the southern part of the Loutraki Ring Road doesn’t exist in real life, but the user edited to make it look as if they were open.

Should filmsgr continue to make fake changes, I may have to consult on whether we should ask the DWG to enact a community ban on Delta Evas ALL, in the context of the user not addressing our repeated complaints about their edits. This requires issuing an official warning to Delta Evas ALL that their continued actions may result in further sanctions.

You are advised to check this changeset, which you may accept or reject asap since it will be harder to revert as time goes by.
(The very enthusiastic user (Miro | OpenStreetMap) have started breaking admin_levels of various countries and most of those already have been reverted.)

I have reason to believe this is another attempt to circumvent our calls for the user to properly explain their long series of bad edits:

  • According to this changeset, the editor replaced the road to Kerasia with an poorly tagged equivalent, along with a non-existent and unmarked corner slip to the east: OSMCha.
  • According to this changeset, the editor merged the slip roads of Junction 6 of the A5, despite Bing and Esri clearly showing a concrete diving barrier.

In light of these edits, I have requested the DWG to issue an official warning to Delta Evas ALL, that their continued bad edits may result in the Greek community requesting a resolution to formally ban Delta Evas ALL.

Standard procedure to please note that a ban is the most serious sanction: under such a situation, their edits will be reverted without warning, and it will be harder for them to return to OpenStreetMap unless they can clearly demonstrate that they will not make such bad edits anymore, and properly work with our community to improve the map according to reality.

Clifford Snow from DWG here. the two changesets you referenced were both from a user Live Web Cam. We received a warning from an internal system. At first glance, it looked okay. See OSMCha.

But I’m unclear what the relations to Delta Evas ALL is. Can you help clear it up for me?

I and @SomeoneElse will try to explain: the user has demonstrated a trend of adding fictional objects. It began with the user adding fictional rallies, which evolved into adding fictional junction layouts, replacement of properly mapped ways with bad quality equivalents and leaving bad or unclear changeset comments. The user sometimes perform legitimate edits but that does not excuse the continued adding of imaginary junction layouts such as this one. Attempts to get the user to explain their changes had no answer from the user.

It is worth pointing out that Delta Evas ALL recently changed the username to Hamilton 44 but the OSMCha history remains available here.

Thanks - I have blocked the user Live Web Cams and will revert all changesets tomorrow. (It’s late Monday here)
