Relation Template Broken

The relation template appears to be broken (or have changed) in that the short version displays a semicolen and the letter ‘r’ before the relation number.
ie
{{Relation|2345|tools=short}} produces ;r2345 (x a r j h).

I don’t think it used to do this.
How do I fix it or can someone do it for me?
