Has anybody over here used OSM tracker for Android ? What are the things you could do with it ?
You can record stuff with your phone (offline) and later use those records to map those to OSM

Ah, it’s a specific app. Didn’t know this one. Had a quick tryout.
I think I’ll stick to just snapshots, then work it out in JOSM at home, using the location stamps of the images. My second screen works wonders for this.

In my experience, this is the only one that can be used effectively while driving alone. Set audio note to 3 seconds, and then hit record voice everytime you see something notable.
It is also doesn’t consume much battery power compared to Osmand (and other apps with maps), so if you intend just to record tracks for quite a while, this would be preferable.

How do I start using it ?
if you use android you can get it with the link in my post above. then you can start the app and use it. that’s it

I have it installed on my android phone. I use f-droid as my prime app store. My question is, how do I learn to use this tool ? For example, do you see all those architectures in this link ? Chandannagar - Wikipedia ? Can I plot these using the app tracker ?
From what I saw, the POIs are only registered in your own device. There is an export function which I haven’t tested to see what exactly is exported, and there is upload which uploads only the gps-track to OSM. I see it as a note-taking tool, wich could help a mapper to map, using their favourite tools.
I use a snapshot series to do this, I don’t need the tool to suggest tags; JOSM has enough presets and plugins to do that.

No, it is the plural form of POI, the abbreviation of Point of interest.
What have I learned: do not use abbreviations.

in the OpenStreetMap context, a point of interest can also be represented by a polygon, it is generally used to say “a feature”

Use it after giving the full form, otherwise that’s the kind of result people come up with when they use search engines like noai.duckduckgo.com
Thanks for taking the time to explain. Often such things may not be found on search engines unless you type in the precise keywords.
This is the 6th track recorded by you, “2026-07-31_14-08-31” is the name of the track. You have manually added 5 waypoints (POIs, etc.). Trackpoints refer to the number of individual measurement points of the track. You haven’t added any notes (free text). The track isn’t exported yet, otherwise a green dot would be visible.
