In November I did a road trip up the Pacific Highway/Motorway in NSW. Different sections are signposted as ref=A1 or ref=M1.
Some of the tags in OSM don’t match what I saw on that trip.
From Hexham to the junction with the Oxley Highway (B56), it is signposted A1 (at least at my survey on 17 November - I’ve been through my voice recordings up to this point). The section around Raymond Terrace was changed in OSM to M1 on 24 November ( Changeset: 175061785 | OpenStreetMap - I’ve commented on this changeset but haven’t had a reply yet).
From the Oxley Highway to Waterfall Way (B78), from memory (I haven’t got to these voice recordings yet) it is M1.
From Waterfall Way it changes back to A1, and then (from memory) remains A1 to the southern end of Big River Way (B91). Some sections have been marked M1 on OSM. One section was changed to M1 in March ( Changeset: 163432229 | OpenStreetMap ) as it was ‘expected to become M1’ after the opening of the Coffs Harbour bypass, but from memory the signs were still A1 at survey (and the bypass was still under construction).
I think it is M1 north of Big River Way (I’ll have to check my voice recordings).
Does anyone object if I change the reference tags to what I saw on the trip?
Or, is there a good reason to leave the reference tags as they are? (e.g. if they will be changed soon.)
Can’t see a problem with doing so, but please explain (as you always do!) what you’ve done.
May even be worth leaving a note tagged in the CS?
