Rad crosing river, no bridge

Hello everybody.

As you migh see in other post I’m on a project for creating cartography in Bolivia that is using OSM technology.

Sometimes labeling the Bolivian roads with the OSM cateogries are quite triky.

Now I got a problem, many roads (mainly non paved) cross rivers without bridges, is important to mark this points as in rain seasons all this crossses are impracticable due to the higth of water.

Is there any way that I can imput this in OSM?¿

It sounds like you are describing a ford. ie a shallow place in the river, where it can be crossed by wading or in a vehicle.

It should be tagged as highway=ford. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dford
Or a different (better?) way to tag it is ford=yes. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:ford
