Hello everyone !
We are students working on PolyGo, an indoor navigation app for the EPFL
campus. We would like to import the indoor floor plans of EPFL’s buildings
into OpenStreetMap, so that any OSM-based app can show floor plans and route
inside the campus. Today there is almost no indoor data there.
The plans come from EPFL’s geoportal (plan.epfl.ch).
About 10,400 rooms, 1,700 halls and corridors, 8,200 doors and 200 lift shafts across 102 buildings would be added, using Simple Indoor Tagging (indoor=room/area/corridor, level, ref = the EPFL room code written on the door, room=office/laboratory/class/…, toilets, stairs, lifts). Building outlines are not touched (we kept OSM’s).
