For some reason “seperate” is a common misspelling in “separate”. This typo can be safely fixed for several key by an automated edit, without loss of anything useful.
I checked it for how often it is bogus, and while errors happen - they are at roughly the same rate as version without typo.
It likely falls under Define, check and (automated) correct string-values for the tag "colour" (for buildings, ...) - #12 by SomeoneElse but a bit of review will not harm anyone, I guess.

It’s a regular typo of mine
. Here are the taginfo links for keys and values.
I decided to not touch seperate= as I have no good idea what it even means.
The same for say foot=seperate (probably foot=use_sidepath
or sidewalk=separate
or both)
If there are other values with clear meaning that make sense and I missed them - let me know
I regularly type seperate this way because I ain’t no prescriptivist, lol
it looks like separate=*
is a rarely used highway=*
tag, looking at taginfo. I see no issue correcting this, but it’s also pretty rare (in fact it’s misspelled more often than not)
I personally would only touch values that need to be standardized, leaving stuff like descriptions, notes, fixmes, and especially names as-is
edit: in other words, I’d only touch *=seperate
and maybe seperate=*
I have done quite a bit of manual fixing of typos in the *=separate
value, so I am familiar with the types of mistakes that pop up. I support this automated typo correction of similar-to-*=separate
values.
