Hi, I’m completely new here.
I am trying to export an area in the UK using the cycle map but the browser hangs every time I try. The normal map exports fine but any other map doesn’t work. I am trying to export as SVG although no formats seem to work.
Specifically I am trying to extract the cycle paths, is there any other way to do this?

It depends a bit on what you’re actually interested in creating and how much effort you want to put into creating something that “looks nice”. The wiki has a few options for creating things in SVG format from OSM Some of the tools mentioned there may also work eith other OSM data formats, which may reduce data loss, since something in an SVG is “just a line” and will have lost its semantic meaning from OSM.
Approaching from the other end, the “usual” way to export data from OSM is overpass - here is a simple query for the OSM tag hghway=cycleway in a small area. You may be able to get that (perhaps via a more complicated query that includes other cycle paths) merged into whatever you’re using to display your SVG map.
