Found a map maker website that doesn’t include the required OSM attribution:
They just have a box on the website hidden by default that has the information in it.
I already reached out to them to correct it but just wanted to inform folks here about it as well. Here’s the email I wrote:
Hello,
I’m writing to inform you that your map maker images and printed media do not appear to include the required OpenStreetMap attribution text along the lines of “Map data from OpenStreetMap.” as well as the URL to Copyright and License | OpenStreetMap. It is not enough to display it on your website in a text box that is hidden by default, it must appear on the printed maps and the preview map images themselves under the rules of the Open Database Licence.
Please find more information at this link:
https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Licence/Attribution_Guidelines
Below is the relevant section for your PrintAPoint service.
Books, magazines, and printed maps
For a printed map and similar media (that is ebooks, PDFs and so on), the credit must appear beside the map if that is where other such credits appear, or in a footnote/endnote if that is where other credits appear, or in the “acknowledgements” section of the publication (often at the start of a book or magazine) if that is where other credits appear. The URL to Copyright and License | OpenStreetMap must be printed out.
Please correct this so you are not in violation of the Open Database Licence and so that the hard work of all us volunteer mappers can be appreciated.
