I've just opened this app on my computer and got a popup, I thought this app was advert free?
When you post what pop-up it was, we can judge if it was an advertisement or maybe just a notification? I never got ad pop-ups from this site; isn’t the pop-up from a site you have open on another tab?

Which app exactly? There are apps with ads using OSM data.
