I was thinking of a way to illustrate my opinion, somewhat complex using Ultra, but I realized that the best thing was to simply add the +Code grid to the OverPass-Turbo query. https://grid.plus.codes/grid/wms/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
Both the grid and the +Code API default to 10 digits. But it is possible to extend the +Code up to 15 digits using the OLC documentation.
The large counts of Full_Plus_Code=6FWHW94V+P9PF and similar should just be removed, they are clearly a mistake. Probably by someone selecting all buildings, instead of a single one.
Full_Plus_Code is a bad idea and probably should be removed. But the ancient rule still stands, donât remove what you donât understand.
If Nominatim wants to make a political statement, they could support it in the same way they support querying by coords.
The OSM website should probably support them, as a special query, in the same way they support querying by coords. Maybe as a political statement, maybe for fun, maybe to support African mappers.
Potentially plus codes can be used as permanent identifiers, and because they not always will be identical to codes, computed from geometry of OSM element, adding them in tags makes sense, but only if they actually used for this purpose.
