Pitch or sports centre?

I am wondering if this area that is currently tagged as leisure=pitch should rather be a leisure=sports_centre?

The area contains a soccer field but also what looks like a running track, tracks for long jump and volleyball.

The main reason why I am not sure what tag to use is that according to the wiki for a sports centre this tag is “for significant facilities.” Perhaps this is too small an area to qualify?

Yes, it’s a sports centre in my book. For context, the whole Wiki paragraph reads:

Note, a single leisure=pitch is not usually a sports centre, leisure=sports_centre is for significant facilities. For example single soccer pitch in a park is not a sports centre.

So, it basically says that a single pitch does not make a centre, but facilities hosting more sports do. Personally, I would not bother tagging a small setup of a football pitch + handball/futsal pitch in a village or near a school as a “sports centre”, but anything more than that would qualify.

I think part of my tagging doubt is that in my native language, Danish, “sports center” sounds more like a building/indoor sports facility, whereas an outdoor area like the one in the screenshot is typically called a “sports field” (Sportsplads).

I see

1 futsal field centre bottom
2 a one hoop basketball pitch
3 circled by a rollerblade/rollerskates ring of sorts
4 building NW
5 a smallish building, dugout or dressing
6 a larger field surrounding all with right kind of a hedge and something that could be another informal futsal game field
All probably within a fence.

Yes sports centre

Personally, I would not bother tagging a small setup of a football pitch + handball/futsal pitch in a village or near a school as a “sports centre”, but anything more than that would qualify.

IMHO there is no minimum size requirement, if the centre is something in its own right (e.g. it has a name) I would map it even with 2 pitches (or without pitches, depending on the sport)

… well the other option here is “recreation ground”. The usage of that in OSM in the UK is somewhat wider than the regular English language usage of that term; maybe that might work here?

Yes, that would probably also work. Looking at my area I see several examples of either leisure=sports_centre or landuse=recreation_ground being used for similar places. Myself I think I’ve mostly been using recreation ground for areas that have a more park-like character with facilities that invite more impromptu and less organized activities.
