Came across this lone pet memorial (i.e. plaque attached to a large rock). It’s very much out in public, along a walked path, so not sure the privacy restriction applies. Since it’s on a large rock, I imagine it’ll be here a while so I think it’s worth tagging, but I’m open to opinion on this.
If I do add it, how best to tag? cemetary=grave is dubious since it’s not significant (probably not a grave either realistically), but historic=memorial + memorial=plaque fits decently I think, but how to tag that this is a pet memorial
From what can be seen in the image and from your comments, regardless of whether it is indeed the burial place of a pet, it seems that the intention of its owners was to dedicate that rock as a votive stone.
In my humble opinion, the burial place of an anonymous pet is of little interest except to its owners. However, the stone located in a public place and with an inscription that identifies it as a memorial could be mapped (I would map it).
My recommendation is to map it as:
historic = memorial
memorial = stone
inscription = Bella | Forever in our hearts and | always in our thoughts | 2024
If you want you can use the key ‘description’ to indicate that the memorial has two dog tracks next to the inscription. Anyone can deduce without saying so, just by describing the object, that it is the grave/memorial of a pet.
