I want to map paths in a nature reserve in the UK. I’m not sure how to tag them. They are not desgnated public rights of way, since I assume that the Wildlife Trust that manages the reserve could move the paths without consultation. The closest I can see is that they are similar to ‘permissive paths’. Would that be ab acceptable designation? The paths do not appear on OS 1:25000 maps.
In addition there are several ‘desire lines’ or ‘desire paths’. They are certainly paths on the ground that can be identified by survey, but only exist because people create them by usage. If these are in a nature reserve, can I include them, and how can I tag them? They would be paths on the ground not marked in maps produced by the Wildlife Trust.
