osm to shp converter

convert osm to shp.

I just downloaded the osm file of australia, however i need to work with it in ArcGlobe, which requires shape files. Does anyone know of a converter and tutorial for the converter?

australia.shp.zip’s no longer available from GF.

We use Global Mapper, import .osm, then extract the attributes you need and export as .shp

Hey, It is true that many GIS applications are using Shapefile format like .shp,.shx, and .dbf. But, still there is no easy to use tool to convert from OpenStreetMap format to Shapefile format. I have found this simple tool in Google code. Take a look at this one. Search for osm2shp in Google.
