I would like to setup an OSM Tile Server. I have tried:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mapserver → nothing but coastlines appearing and no errors in the error file
http://weait.com/content/build-your-own-openstreetmap-server → no errors but a 19MB png file that wont display
I really need clear step-by-step instructions for setting up an OSM tile server preferably on Windows. I know very little about Linux and had to have someone else try the Linux setup for me.
I looked at the Tiledrawer (http://tiledrawer.com/) but didn’t try it since I have servers available.
Are there some other sites out there that offer good instructions?
I need to setup the entire planet because I have customers all over the globe. I am currently using Bing maps but have found that in many places outside the US, OSM has better data.
