I second what has been said upside. A little update on wiki can be made now to discourage bogus ways to map generators on areas.

That’s the kind of improvement the currently discussed proposal brings. Note that only source and method are shared between generators and plant. Type / technology is only a generator matter. For solar farms, the 2 tags are common yes. Sometimes not.
It could be set we propagate the plant’s properties on generators when the facility is simple enough, but it will complexify a bit when you will find batteries and steam storage at the same place.
