Hi there! For any OSM users out there who also happen to be golfers, I wanted to share that I’ve just re-released my OSM-powered golf app and renamed it to CIVIC golf. It does the basic golf app stuff like maps, distances, and scorekeeping.

It was formerly a freemium app named Caddieapp, but I’ve given up on trying to figure out how to make that work financially. So it’s now a hobby project and completely free. No IAP, no ads, no registration, no anything.

It’s currently only on iOS and watchOS, but I do plan to point Claude Code at it at some point to try to get it working on Android (at least for the phone).

It should make a great companion to the new FairwayMapper project ( FairwayMapper - introducing golfers to mapping! ) and between the two, hopefully we can get the percent of fully mapped courses way up, and also introduce some new people to OSM.

Ah I think I remember stumbling across Caddieapp in early research - cool project! Good luck with the relaunch and thanks for the tag :heart_eyes:

Great! I documented it´s existance on the golf tagging page on the wiki, see Tag:leisure=golf_course - OpenStreetMap Wiki. Between Fairwaymapper, Fairwaycast and it it´s great projects!

Glad it’s helpful! I had created a pitch deck a while back to try to encourage some of the big golf organizations to invest in OSM course mapping and environmental insights / planning, etc. was one of the big use cases that came to mind. Glad to see you’re working on that!
