OpenStreetMap Belgium at VLA congress 2026

OpenStreetMap Belgium at VLA congress 2026 — Volunteers wanted!

On Saturday 7 March 2026, the annual VLA congress for Flemish geography teachers takes place and OpenStreetMap Belgium will be there.

This year’s theme is “De blauwe aders op de kaart” and we’ve been invited to host an OpenStreetMap info stand. An opportunity to introduce teachers to OSM and show how it can be used in the classroom.

When

Saturday 7 March 2026, 08:45–17:30

Where

Hogeschool Odisee
Hospitaalstraat 23
Sint-Niklaas

What

At the OpenStreetMap Belgium stand we will have:

  • A looping presentation about OpenStreetMap and OSM Belgium projects

  • An OSM Belgium banner and posters

  • OSM volunteers to chat with teachers

We need

We’re looking for 3–4 volunteers who would like to:

  • Help staff the stand (you don’t have to be there all day)

  • Talk with geography teachers about using OpenStreetMap at school

  • Share stories, examples, and experiences from OSM in Belgium and beyond

You don’t need to be an OSM expert. Enthusiasm and basic OSM knowledge are more than enough.
