openlovemap.de was once (WebArchive, wiki) an OSM map. But it looks like it’s now been taken over by vibe-cybersquatters.
I’ve heard many stories of conscientious OSM developers being harassed with trademark infringement notices. But I’ve never seen the OSMF use its legal power for its intended purpose…
Open<X>Map is not a trademark of the OSMF and the page doesn’t claim to have any connection to OSM. There’s nothing to enforce here.
Edit:
There is actually a section about similar names in the trademark policy
You may not:
- abbreviate the wordmarks, combine them with other words (“OpenStreetMapThing”), or substitute words in the mark (“OpenStreetThing” or “OpenThingMap”), especially where the new combination sounds similar to OpenStreetMap.
Care to list some of those stories and did you actually try to look for instances of it being used for its intended purpose? I have some doubts about that claim.
