Hey everyone!
I’d like to share a new MapRoulette challenge: Norway - Connectivity and Geometry Issues on Highways - 232 tasks.
The challenge highlights potential road network connectivity and geometry issues such as disconnected roads, duplicated highways, roundabout connectivity problems, junction connection issues, and other geometry anomalies that may affect routing and map quality.
A bit less than half of the tasks relate to roundabouts where entry and exit roads share the same node on the roundabout. These situations are currently the subject of community discussion, so local feedback would be especially valuable. Any comments on how such cases are mapped in Norway, whether they should be considered issues, or how they could be handled in the challenge would be greatly appreciated.
The tasks were generated through an analysis of the OSM road network and are intended to support local review. As always, local mapping practices and OSM guidelines may help inform any assessment, and not every task will necessarily require a fix.
