I’ve added the signed restrictions through North Cave village to the B1230 (Westgate, way 20006603; Church Street, changeset 189381606; Newport Road, changeset 189381698). Signs at the village entry points are TSRGD 622.1A goods vehicles over 7.5t prohibited with an “except for access” plate, a coaches prohibited sign, and an advisory unsuitable for caravans sign. Tagged as maxweightrating:hgv=7.5 with maxweightrating:hgv:conditional=none @ destination, tourist_bus=no, coach=no, caravan=discouraged. I’m new to OSM and aware the UK tagging for 622.1A has been debated, so I’d be grateful if someone could check the tags match current UK practice and adjust if needed. Photographs of the signs available if useful.

Looks good! Thanks for your attention to detail ![]()
You might want to check whether there are signs on the other entry points to the village (Station Road, Cliffe Road, etc.) and map those so you end up with a connected set of ways covering the entire area where the maxweightrating:hgv applies. But sometimes councils neglect to add the signs except on the major roads, leaving the area of the restriction ill-defined, so it’s not always possible.
If you wanted to make the source of the restriction tagging clearer, you could add standalone nodes for the traffic signs themselves, in the appropriate location, tagged with (for example):
traffic_sign=GB:622.1A
direction=80
but that’s just icing on the cake and is definitely not required.
