New Bing Aerial mapping

I have a question regarding the new Bing aerial mapping available in Potlatch 2.

When looking around my area, I am finding that some streets line up perfectly, and some are out by a couple of metres - the aerial shots are always ~2m too far west.

Even when using GPS data I am finding that whilst one side of a motorway is fine, the other carriageway is a couple of metres out.

Is it a scaling issue or an accuracy issue with previous incarnations of OpenStreetMap, i.e. due to the old rubbish Yahoo imagery?

Regards,
Morrolan

There are efforts to deal with that problem:

Best way is IMHO always to compare with self recorded or uploaded GPS-tracks.

BTW: you can use the Bing aerial photos also in Merkaartor or JOSM …
